As they neared the shore, the disciples who had fished all night, saw a
stranger at the water’s edge. He called, “Have you caught any fish?”, to
which they replied “No”. He then promised that they would catch some if they
let their net in again on the right side of the boat. They obeyed, and
immediately saw it fill with large fish. John said to Peter, “It is the
Lord!”
That morning the disciples enjoyed breakfast, prepared by the Risen Christ,
on the beach. That morning Jesus repeatedly asked Peter, “Do you love Me?”
Peter’s recommitment led to Peter’s recommissioning, “Feed My sheep”. Today
the same question still hangs in the air. Our response determines our life
direction.
