I knew that this scene was excellent painting material; very tranquil; an
August fog slowly evaporating; big glistening dew drops festooning every
twig. However, real excitement began as I brought the painting to final
completion. An "essence" had been captured. Something of the spirit, not
just of this particular place, but of many similar places where we've all
been and stood in awe at the wonder of creation.
