There are
no hidden messages or meanings to this painting. - Just the sheer pleasure
of light falling on, and bouncing off things familiar to farming folk.
We have about 50 sheep. Enough to keep us busy doing all the things that
proper sheep farmers have to do, but not near enough sheep to provide a
respectable income. Never mind.
Twice a year the sheep have to be shorn. Sheep shearers always wear
moccasins made of sacking. Our shearer was about to discard this old pair.
They looked so wonderfully homemade... lived in.
I could just feel a painting coming on as I begged to be allowed to have
them.
